Michael “Mike” Nyamazana is an experienced investment banking and governance professional with over three decades of leadership across East and Southern Africa. As co-founder and Managing Director of Africa Corporate Advisors (ACA), he has advised regional and international institutions, including SADC, AfDB, the EU, and the World Bank, advancing investment promotion, institutional capacity, and business environment reforms. He has extensive experience with financial inclusion and SME access-to-finance. A Chartered Secretary, Public Accountant, Certified Banker, and MBA holder, he is recognized for his expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, and board-level governance. Before he was elected Board Chairperson, Mr. Nyamazana served as Chairperson of the Capital Raise Committee of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Board. He also serves as an Independent Director on three other boards in Zimbabwe and Botswana.
Zita Matonda is a qualified Chartered Accountant and works for Silverlands Tanzania Limited as Regional Finance Director. Before joining Silverlands, she was the Finance Director of Irvine’s Zimbabwe (Private) Limited. She served her articles with Deloitte between 1998 and 2003, where she gained experience in auditing and audit management. She has 20 years of financial expertise in manufacturing, retail, distribution, mining, and poultry operations. She serves as a non-executive director on the board of Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund since September 2020, where she is the chairperson of the Finance, Audit and Human Resources Committee.
Kudzayi Katupira is a qualified lawyer with a huge combination of experience in private legal practice and providing in-house legal services in financial institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in International Commercial Law (with Distinction) from the University of Greenwich, London. She has worked in private practice at Scanlen & Holderness Legal Practitioners & Matizanadzo & Warhurst. She also did a stint in Tunisia at the African Development Bank (AfDB) where she was attached to the General Counsel & Legal Services Department particularly the Public Sector Operations & Private Sector Divisions. She is currently employed at Ecobank Zimbabwe as in-house Legal Counsel in its Legal and Corporate Affairs Department. Kudzayi joined Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund (ZMF) as an Independent Non-Executive board member on 05 July 2019 and sits in the ZMF main board, Board Capital Raise Committee as well as the Board Credit Committee.
Samuel Gumbe has a PhD in Business Management and holds qualifications in Business Studies and Administration, Credit Management and a of Trainer's Certificate in SME Development. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Zimbabwe, having previously worked at the Small Enterprises Development Corporation (SEDCO).
Tichafara Gundo is a Social Scientist with experience in areas of Corporate Governance, Human Capital Management, Public Policy and Administration. Since September 2020, he serves as a non-executive director on the board of Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund.
Brian Zimunhu is the Managing Director of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund. He has implemented the ZMF strategy since the formation of the organisation and has successfully navigated the organisation through the socio-economic challenges of which hyper-inflation and the COVID 19 pandemic are of note. Brian has vast experience in the financial services sector spanning licensing, regulation and supervision of microfinance institutions (MFls) and mainstream banks acquired over a seven-year stint with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. He holds a B.Com. (Hons) Degree in Banking (NUST), MSc Banking and Financial Services (NUST), Masters in Microfinance (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) and a Certificate in Banking.
