Michael “Mike” Nyamazana is an experienced investment banking and governance professional with over three decades of leadership across East and Southern Africa. As co-founder and Managing Director of Africa Corporate Advisors (ACA), he has advised regional and international institutions, including SADC, AfDB, the EU, and the World Bank, advancing investment promotion, institutional capacity, and business environment reforms. He has extensive experience with financial inclusion and SME access-to-finance. A Chartered Secretary, Public Accountant, Certified Banker, and MBA holder, he is recognized for his expertise in capital markets, corporate finance, and board-level governance. Before he was elected Board Chairperson, Mr. Nyamazana served as Chairperson of the Capital Raise Committee of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Board. He also serves as an Independent Director on three other boards in Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Samuel Gumbe has a PhD in Business Management and holds qualifications in Business Studies and Administration, Credit Management and a of Trainer's Certificate in SME Development. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Zimbabwe, having previously worked at the Small Enterprises Development Corporation (SEDCO).

Zita Matonda is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of financial expertise spanning manufacturing, retail, distribution, mining, and poultry operations. She is currently employed by Gain Cash and Carry (Private) Limited as their Chief Finance Officer. Prior to joining Gain, she was the Regional Finance Director for Silverlands Tanzania Limited and the Finance Director of Irvine’s Zimbabwe (Private) Limited. She served her articles with Deloitte between 1998 and 2003, where she gained extensive experience in auditing and audit management. She has served as a non-executive director on the board of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund since September 2020 and has since been appointed Vice Chairperson of the board.

Tichafara Gundo is a Social Scientist with experience in areas of Corporate Governance, Human Capital Management, Public Policy and Administration. Since September 2020, he serves as a non-executive director on the board of Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund.

Board Member

Kudzayi Katupira is a qualified lawyer with a huge combination of experience in private legal practice and providing in-house legal services in financial institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Masters in International Commercial Law (with Distinction) from the University of Greenwich, London. She has worked in private practice at Scanlen & Holderness Legal Practitioners & Matizanadzo & Warhurst. She also did a stint in Tunisia at the African Development Bank (AfDB) where she was attached to the General Counsel & Legal Services Department particularly the Public Sector Operations & Private Sector Divisions. She is currently employed at Ecobank Zimbabwe as in-house Legal Counsel in its Legal and Corporate Affairs Department. Kudzayi joined Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund (ZMF) as an Independent Non-Executive board member on 05 July 2019 and sits in the ZMF main board, Board Capital Raise Committee as well as the Board Credit Committee.

Brian Zimunhu is the Managing Director of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund (ZMF) Pvt Limited. He is responsible for executing the daily leadership roles in the institution as well as Strategy Formulation and Implementation. Brian has vast experience in the Financial Services Sector spanning Licensing, Regulation and Supervision of Microfinance Institutions (MFls) and Mainstream Banks acquired over a seven-year stint with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. From 2012, Brian has been working in the Development Finance Sector, as the Managing Director at ZMF, Brian has been at the forefront in developing financial solutions and partnerships that promote inclusive growth. Brian has successfully navigated the organisation through the socio-economic challenges of which hyper-inflation, currency changes and the COVID 19 pandemic are of note. He holds a B.Com. (Hons) Degree in Banking (NUST), MSc Banking and Financial Services (NUST), Masters in Microfinance (Universite Libre de Bruxelles) and a Certificate in Banking.

Zimbabwe Microfinance Fund (Private) Limited, (ZMF), is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Microfinance Wholesale Facility Trust (ZMWFT). The institution was formed in 2011 to operate as a financial apex organisation providing on-lending capital to financial service providers (FSPs) that include MFIs, SACCOs, Agricultural Value Chain Actors (AgVCA) and Banks downscaling to serve the bottom of the pyramid entrepreneurs.
